Cort's 10 month update.

It's really hard to believe Cort is already 10 months!
In just two short months he's going to be one!
Cort has really grown up a lot this month,
he walks around and "talks" to us all the time,
it's so cool to see his little mind work!
Cort is in almost all 12 month clothes,
And is in size 4 shoes, he has little shoes that squeak every time he walks, they are so cute!
Cort has 4 teeth now, two on top & two on bottom,

he's not been sleeping very good lately because he has 2 more teeth coming in & I think the holiday & busyness messed up his schedule.
He loves going up the stairs,
but we are still working on him going down them,
he just learned to wave bye & hi! He does it all the time,
he also will say "ba ba" (bye bye)  to John when he leaves. and "nana da" (Night night Dad)
And says ba (Ball) when he sees a ball and runs after it!
He's also started getting very mad and almost  a fit when I take something from him he wanted but should have,
so I'm working on him with that.
But for the most part he is a very obedient, yet inquisitive happy little boy,
I say boy because in my eyes, he's not a baby anymore, which is sad, but I look forward to seeing all the things he's leaning to do!

9 month update

Height/Weight: Cort is just over 19 pounds and 29 inches long,

Routine:
7:30 - Wake up, eat breakfast.
9:00 - Nurse and take a nap.
12:00 - Eat lunch and play in the family room.
2:00 - Hopefully get Cort down for a nap
6:00 - Make supper and play in the kitchen
7:30 - Take a bath, Get PJ's on and go to bed.

Sleeping: I put Cort to bed around 7:30-8:30pm and he wakes up around 2-4 times in the night to eat, I'm hoping this is just a phase and he starts sleeping better at night, because this momma is tired! He normally wakes up between 6:30-8:00am then about 2 hours after he wakes up he takes a morning nap for about a hour. After lunch Cort takes a afternoon nap *Usually* He naps around 30 min to two hours on a good day.

Eating/Feeding: Cort sits in his high chair with us every meal, But lately he doesn't want to eat real food, just puffs. He nurses about every 2-3 hours for 2-5 min.

Sizes: Cort is in 6-9 month and some 9-12 month and size 4 diapers.
Pants are always to long for him so I just roll them up a bit for him.

Milestones: Cort is WALKING! he started walking at about 8 1/2 months and is getting really fast! He just started sticking his tongue out, It's so funny, he'll run around with his tongue sticking out and smiling at John & Me.
He loves opening up drawers and cabinets so I'm glad I have things ether baby proofed or something that is OK for him to get into.

{thoughts}

In all things God is good,

Some days when Cort & I are having a rough day,
I'll just be holding Cort as he's crying and crying, I'll just start praying,
I'll thank God for the blessing of Cort,
and that I know that even when I feel like things are not in my control,
God is always in control, and he can and does so much better at that then me,
He orchestrates everything for HIS good,
Not what I think would be good or what I want, But what HIS plan is.
People say "Oh Gods so good" when things are going there way,
But how many people say how great God is when there are troubles in there lives?
But in all things, God is good, in tough times and good,
So Today I am thanking God, not because things are going my way, or my life is perfect,
but I am thanking God for blessing me with my life and for his perfect plan he's creating for it.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

[real life mommy moments]

I also Voted today for the second time,
Today was one of those days,
If your a mom you know what I'm talking about.
Sleepless night, cranky baby,
laundry to do, and a sink full of dishes.
But instead of being stressed out about it and trying to get everything done with a crying baby,
I just snuggled my little guy and enjoyed that moment.
I'm enjoying my new hair cut as well, so nice for when I have days were I don't have time to do much to my hair.

What have you been up to lately?

Cort's 8 month update.

It's hard to believe Cort is already 8 months old!

He's not a little baby any more,
He's crawling all over and surfing couches,
He's taking a few steps on his own and always standing up all by himself!
A few days ago I caught him climbing on a box in his closet!
When he's done eating in his high chair I sign "All Done" to him,
And now he will lift up his arms when he's don't eating, It's pretty cute!
He can say "dada" and "Hi da".
The past week he has started sleeping through the night!
It's been so nice!
He is such a smart little guy, he likes playing with his toys while I read or do dishes.

Kindness of a stranger.

[day twenty-three]
Today while Cort & I were at the grocery store,
I was walking in the baby food aisle,
A elderly man accidentally bumped his cart against mine,
I say sorry and he said "oh no that was my fault."
I smile and start to walk off then he said "Hey do you have a minuet?"
I say "yes!" and he hands me a dollar and says "get the kid a candy bar"
I didn't end up getting him a candy bar because Cort is only 7 months,
I ended up getting him some mum mums  and he ate one when we got home,
So to that stranger who blessed Cort, thank you!

Q & A

{day eighteen}

"What's your biggest fear about being a mom?"

  • Right up until a few days before I had Cort I really didn't have any fears,                         Then I started thinking, "can I really do this?" I'm going to be responsible for another human being! Feeding changing, when he cry's I'll need to know what to do to help him! But as soon as I saw him I knew I could do this!                                                                 I am his Mother and he is my Son,                                                                                 Now I really don't have any fears,                                                                          Because I know God wont give me anything I cant handle.

"What character quality is your favorite about you husband?"

  • To be Honest there are so many, but here are afew, He is kind & sweet, He is a leader, but a gentle one and He is so great with Cort, When I have a rough day he is there for me, I cant imagine having a better husband!

"What do you find to be the most challenging part about being a mom?"

  • The lack of sleep! Especially when he is sick, When his noes is so stuffed up he cant eat very good, or he's crying because his throat hurts. It just makes be feel so bad because I can't do much to help him.

"What has been the easiest age or stage of Cort's life so far?"

  • I'd say when he was 5 months old, He could sit up great so he was happy and could watch me & play, But he wasn't crawling all over the place getting into stuff,                 But honestly I love every stage, It's so fun to see him grow and change every month!

Got anymore Questions? Feel free to leave them down below!
