DIY Letterboard //

What You Need

  • 14" x 11" frame that has an interior depth of at least ¾" and spring-loaded backing clips on the back of the frame. I used This frame
  • 36" x 12" piece of black felt
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Kitchen scissors
  • Qty: about 18 – 3/16" thick square balsa wood dowels, 24" long, I got these But you can find them cheaper local.
  • Newspaper or scrap paper to put under while using the hot Glue
  • Somthing to push down the fabric, I used a spatchula

What we will be making

First step you take the backing out of the frame and you'll see this wooden part.
line up the dowels  and cut to the right length,

Space the dowels so you can put a letter through the whole. hot glue them down,
Then put dowels in between each dowel spot so there is less space.

Glue black felt to the top and start "stuffing" the felt in between each slot.

make sure its even all the way down.

As you go you can see how the letters fit nicely on the board.

Once the felt is in the slots just re-enforce with hot glue and add the backing and......

YOUR DONE!

I got a container to organize the letters so I can easily change up the sayings.
